My daughter's phone is on her father's contract. Unfortunately we were not informed that MTN was going to take over Autopage. I have always paid the account in full and if I had a problem, I made prior arrangements. By December 2015 every account for that year was paid in full. In March I experienced a little financial problems and made arrangements with Autopage. By June, everything was on track again and I paid the outstanding amount in Autopage's account, only to find that MTN has taken over Autopage. I then made a payment of R7 000 into MTN's account. While they were trying to get the money back from Autopage, my daughter's services were suspended. She is a diabetic and a stay-at-home of a two-year old little girl. In total, since the beginning of the year I have paid more than R12 000 for a phone that my daughter rarely made calls on. According to MTN, Autopage is not going to credit them as they claim that we do not have any credit with them. MTN is now demanding another R7 676,62 before the services will be reinstated. Does this sound realistic - more than R12 000 plus more than R7 000 for an ordinary "house" phone - not a business phone? Meanwhile I still have to pay for a phone that has not been in use for the past two months.
