MTN *****ing money from me on a monthly basis...

I upgraded my contract at MTN during December 2015. Since that date, they have been overcharging me with approx. R250 - R300 each month.

When I first questioned this at their Cresta branch, I was told by a rather unhelpful Caucasian male that they cannot help me as their "billing system does not work on weekends". He did not offer me any alternative solution nor was he willing to call his manager or provide me with a reference number.

I then returned during the week and was assisted by an African female. She took down my details but I did not hear back from her until I e-mailed her a third time. She then responded with a badly written and misspelt email admitting that MTN should not have been charging me this excess amount. She informed me that this will be rectified but after two months this was still occuring.

I then returned to the store a third time and was this time assisted by an African male. He was the most helpful and entered my details onto their system. This was now June 2016 and with an approx amount of R1500 owing to me) was only refunded R200 that month. The following month however they just upped the amount they are overcharging me with for the R200 "refund" of the previous month.

I then decided to contact MTN customer service. They took down all my details and informed me that this will be sorted out in 48 hours. 72 hours later I followed up and I was then told my the customer service representative that there was no record of my call. The representative took down my details again and 72 hours later when I followed again the exact same thing happened. They then took down my details a third time and "sent an email to head office" (according to the representative) where I was told this will be sorted out in 24 hours. I am still waiting on a reponse.

This is now September 2016 and they are still overcharging me this amount. (Nearing R2000 owing to me).

Needless to say, I will be cancelling all my business with MTN and I encourage all others to do so as well.
