MTN – *****ING FROM THE DEAD!

It would appear that MTN has become so desperate for business that they have to resort to *****ing from the dead! HOW INCREDIBLY DISGUSTING!!!

Following the passing of my father on 30 May 2016, I called MTN Customer Care on 808 requesting to have his contract number [***] terminated. Here I was politely told that the contract can’t be cancelled and needs to run its full course. So now a deceased person needs to continue paying for a service they can no longer use?? How SICK is this!

I then went to the MTN Office at the Cape Gate Centre, Brackenfell on 6 April 2016 with the same request [***], providing them with a copy of the death certificate and everything else they asked for. A document was completed by them and I was informed that the contract will be terminated and the number will be switched to a pre-paid within 7 working days. Sadly this did not happen and again we visited the MTN Store in Cape Gate.

Calling the 808 customer care number again I get told that I need to take this up with MTM Legal. The problem here is that the customer is unable to call MTN Legal, and they simply fail to call you.

On 14 April, [at which time the number should already have been on pre-paid], R110.00 airtime was simply added for which I was then politely billed.

To date, I have visited the Cape Gate customer centre NO LESS THAN 10 TIMES in an attempt to get this contract terminated and then today, 17 May 2016, another R110.00 talk-time gets added. I cannot wait to see if MTN will actually have the ity to bill me for this also.

Can someone from MTN PLEASE sort out your ****!

Good Day AndreJ0256,

Thank you for your post.

We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.

Kindly be advised that the contract for cell number 083****155 has been cancelled and the number converted already to prepaid.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery.

Kind Regards,

Zukiswa

Best regards,

AJ

It's fine and well apologising after the fact, but this does not change the fact that MTN's customer service sucks! What I do however fail to see in your response is an offer to pay back the R100.00 for which I was incorrectly billed on 17 April 2016 as a result of YOUR staff not doing their work. Failing to repay this incorrectly billed amount simply means that you are completely comfortable with '*****ing from the dead'!
