MTN South Africa 's deceiving 2 in 1 contract specials

I did a cellphone contract upgrade in february 2024 with the mtn online sales team. The consultant who assisted me goes by the name of Angela Linda. The intent was to take advantage MTN's 2 in 1 special whereby you get two devices for the price of one contract. The upgrade i took was supposed to come with a redmi smartphone and redmi tablet for R700 pm. To my surprise, when the courier company contacted me to arrange for delivery on the 1 March 2024, only a smartphone was delivered to me and no tablet was part of the package.

I made several email follows ups with the consultant from the MTN's online sales team and several contradicting and disappointing promises were made to me. The first promise was that the tablet will be delivered within 2-5 days after i took delivery of the smartphone. 5 days went past and no delivery was made. The second promise was that the tablet will be delivered within 5-7 days. Ten days went past and still no tablet was delivered to me to this day. The last response from the online sales team was that they apologise for the delay and my issue will be escalated to a manager but with no timeframes. I am extremely disappointed and feel like MTN has ripped me off with my contract upgrade. MTN advertises non existent 2 in 1 contract specials to deceive its customers by only delivering one device as soon as the customer signs up for the contract or upgrade. Can MTN South Africa learn to practice transparency towards its customers and deliver my tablet as promised please? B. Monareng.
