MTN South Africa
I am beginning to realise and that there are very few individuals in the service industry who actually have reasonable levels of intelligence, when communicating with the likes of MTN and the other big service providers one needs a lot of patience when dealing deal with these individuals. To high this point on the 28 July 2023 I informed MTN by means of an email to their Customer Care department that my address had change. I immediately received an email from Simangele Prudence Ntuli asking for my ID number, postal address, work telephone/email address and bank name which was duly email to her.
On the 30 July I received an email from Boipelo Phiri informing me that my address has been updated.
It was a pleasure to have this confirmation. Well, my last two invoices and statements from MTN still had my old address. I immediately sent another email to Boipelo Phiri enclosing past email correspondence in which it was confirmed that my address details had been updated.
Now I get another email request from Kamkgelo Mlotshwa asking for all my personal details again before they can do anything.
One has to ask oneself the question whether these operators employed by MTN has any educational levels at all? These types of standard requests seem to be robot driven and not handled by humans because if there were humans involved, they could have just looked at my previous emails for all the requested details or even better still they could have followed up with Boipelo Phiri as I had included his/her email as a reference. Dealing with MTN is like dealing with clowns in a circus. It is pathetic to say the least. In all probability one wonders how MTN employ such people. The other interesting fact is that you can never get through to their management. They just cut you off. Well, I have done my bit in notifying them of my change of address, if they fail to act its due to their own inefficiencies and poor structures.
