Please unsubscribe my number from all of your marketing/advertising SMS’s before you lose me as a customer. I did not ask for this and I’m about to lose it. You provide a number to Opt-Out, however I’d still receive the same SMS’s over and over again. When sending STOP to the last number you provided, I received the following SMS in return:
“Thank you for voting for your TNPA Culture Charter Ambassador. Your vote has been registered. Remember, 1 number, 1 vote per day. Please vote again tomorrow”
I thought this was coincidental as it made no sense, so I SMS’d stop again and received this response once more.
Below are examples of SMS’s that I’m referring to with Opt-Out options that doesn’t work.
“Y'ello, get R250 MTN-MTN Airtime for free when you recharge with R150. Talk more and get more on the Bozza network now! T&Cs apply. OptOut SMS STOP to 30246“
“Y'ello, MTN8 is here! Dial*130*8# to opt-in, recharge with R10 or more & stand a chance to win a share of R8 Million in prizes! TsCs. SMS Stop to 30720 OptOut.”
“Y'ello! Don't miss out on the LAST free participation for the R200,000! If you win, we will call you! ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT! Send YES to 30571 & 2782******* could win R200,000 without paying for this SMS! After 1 FREE day: R1,51/day. T&C: bit.ly/1TOa4Lg Opt out: STOPS to 30571. Send YES for FREE now. ONLY for MTN!”
It appears that all these SMS’s started happening roughly from March. Whatever you changed, change it back please.
Regards, Sherwin

Please note that there are different content charges. One way of removing them is by dialing *136# and follow the MTN play option until you get to manage subscriptions. The second way to remove the said charge is by logging on to your browser from your device. I have attached the below instructions in order to remove the charge:
Q - How do I cancel a subscription?
Visit the ‘My Subscriptions’ category under ‘My MTN Play’ at WWW.MTNPLAY.CO.ZA on your mobile device. Select the subscription and deactivate.
