MTN sim swop delays

On the 12th July 2023 I was ****** and my handset was taken, which had my MTN sim inserted that I've owned for approx. to 20 years. On the 15th July 2023 I visited a MTN store to perform a sim swop, to which I was told would be successful after 24 hours. More than a week on, each day I either call into the call centre or visit a store and continuously I am fed with excuses and eventually told to wait a further 24 hours. I cant understand where the issue lies when each attempt I continuously pass the security questionare, and am even charged instore to conduct the process.
