MTN Sim-Swap Nightmare _A|_ Not worth the trouble

I have recently received a LTE sim from MTN as part swapping out my 32k sim with a 128k sim for LTE reception. After following all the instructions the sim was not working within 12 hours.

After talking to the MTN call center they said that the sim will be only be activated 24 hours after the sim-swap was done. 48 hours later the sim was still not active. After another call and another 24h wait the sim was still not working. After the same calls and 5 days without a working phone I felt that I will be instructed to wait 24 hours indefinitely.

If I knew that this would the result of doing a sim-swap I would have never done it. With all the cases of money being ****** from bank accounts through illegitimate sim-swaps so the ********* can add beneficiaries and transfer money freely without the victim being notified, I would expect that MTN would treat sim-swaps as a matter of high importance as the customer are at risk, but it seems that this is not that case. I pay for a contract which I cannot use. What a way to do business MTN...
