MTN should “wave” themselves goodbye in promotions

MTN should be “waving” these types of promotions goodbye.

I have been an MTN customer for a number of years and despite all its faults ( as cellular networks go) nothing boils my blood more then this ridiculous “wave and win” promotion!!! Firstly, what happened to the spins? There atleast one would (once in a blue moon) receive something, be it 50mb or 7min MTN-MTN voice calls, irrespective of its latent T n C * ‘use before 23:59”’ conditions.

Secondly. Now- we faced with this ridiculousness called “MTN Wave & Win” which is said to be their summer promotion, where you can get waves through a variety of qualifying activities, purchases, or recharges. With each wave, you stand a chance to win your share of R50 million in prizes.

Thirdly, I buy over 1G data a day that’s only when purchasing data by continuously having to buy R70 (1G+1G) at a time, sometimes twice within one day because for some odd reason MTN’s data bundles flies faster then some jets I have seen cruising across the sky, in comparison, and for obvious reasons in an attempt to curb my over spending habits in respects to the above stated. They should call them minute bundles instead as they never last a week.

I digress. To qualify the following is required to occur;

Once you have completed a qualifying activity,you will receive an SMS notification showing you how many waves you have earned.

Step 3 Dial *142# or *156*083#, visit www.mtnwaveandwin.co.za, or head to the MyMTN app.

You would think that upon every R17 spend I would receive such notifications but alas. On the odd occasions that I do, I regret venturing into the possibility of actually receiving anything in return.

I have to date, never won a single thing by those “waves” and wonder what is the real qualifying conditions to be a candidate to win the fantastic prizes promised as rewards as its defiantly not spending R 2200 a month in airtime, data and voice bundles. I have heard such wonderful data bundle stories from friends using other networks( Telkom) on how much more data they receive for less. Ie: R50 (1G) monthly.

Lastly, I would genuinely like to know who has won ANYTHING by using the MYN wave and win promotion.
