MTN Shocking Service
I made a mistake to upgrade my MTN contract - it took me a while to decide on upgrading but I should have followed my gut and just cancelled the contract.
A very friendly lady assisted my with upgrade at the Cape Road Port Elizabeth branch. I advised her that I want insurance on the handset because I always say to myself I will add it to my home insurance but never do. Long story short - I DID NOT sign the insurance waiver and when I went through my first invoice I noticed no insurance. My first bill was large so there was no way to know at first glance. I just assumed it was in that hefty amount somewhere (also this was not explained to me that my next bill after upgrading will be high)
So this wonderful friendly but obviously *********** individual did not activate insurance on my handset. I emailed customer care and their response:
"Please note that there is no insurance policy for your contract. Kindly visit the point of sales for further assistance. Kindly be advised that insurance application can only be processed within 30 days of receiving your device. "
How is it my problem now? I don't work for MTN - I as a customer requested something that was not done. Pull the documents and you will see no insurance waiver was signed. I should not have to waste my time, petrol and patience because MTN cannot hire competent individuals.
If you cannot sort this out just cancel my contract and you can have your phone back.
