MTN - SHOCKING *****

Imagine my horror when today by sheer default I discovered that MTN has listed me for outstanding debt on Experian. After querying the matter with their accounts division, I was told that apparently that there were two accounts in my name and that one was opened by an individual that has nothing whatsoever to do with me – he is not related to me, he is not a friend, and in fact after investigating the matter, I believe he died in 2004! Despite begging MTN for their legal division’s telephone number so that I can resolve the matter instantly, they refused, stating they would send an email to their legal division – not a call, not an urgent request to contact me, no – an emai! They have a process and to hell with me – their process has to be followed. In the meantime my squeaky clean credit record has now been marred with this utter *******. I have been a loyal client of theirs for the past 22 years and have never owed them a single cent. They have been debiting my bank account every single month for the past 22 years without a single hitch. One would think, that since I’m one of their clients and they therefore HAVE my cell number, they would have had the decency to call me first, or send me an account, or any other form of communication FIRST before summarily listing me on a credit bureau! I am so livid. Surely this is a contravention of every single piece of legislation ever laid down by the CPA? Surely this is *****!? What recourse do I have? I cannot wait for months for their useless legal division to sort this out!
