MTN Service stoops to new lows
Yesterday I received an SMS notifying me that I am at 90% of my credit limit. I immediately called the call center and was advised that I was actually above my limit by R200 and that my service would be suspended. I asked if I could pay or if they could increase the limit a bit as the billing date would be this Thursday (in 2days time), but they advised that there was nothing they could do other than email the credit controller. I then called MTN in Cape Town and was assured that they would monitor the situation and ensure I was not cut off. To no avail. I was cut off today! I told everyone I spoke with that it was critical that I am not cut off as I am in hospital for the week and that my cell phone was my only way of contact with my family and my business. It seems no one cares. I pointed out that I have been a client for 25+ years and that I often had invoices much larger than the credit limit. To no avail. I am deeply disappointed with MTN and will be moving my account elsewhere as soon as I can.
