MTN service is poor - Watch out people with a simular problem

Using MTN as a service provider is proving to be more than a frustration. As I am seldom in the country 4 times a year I have maintained me contract with MTN so as to have communications when here or if I need to be contacted urgently whilst not in the country.

For the last 3 days I have tried to top up my limit which was set at over R1000 although the the outstanding is substantially less than that. What I have learnt is that the call centre is not able to sort the issue out. .... I have tried to recharge from the Bank - Get an error doing this, Call the call centre who keep telling me it is resolved reboot your phone and then call *136*1*7852# or *136*5# option 1..... This is the 4th time this morning and all I get is "Please contact your service provider to set you limit"

On trying to call the call centre on the number on the web 083135 I get the message that this number does not exist. 135 works on the phone.

Needless to say MTN you service is pathetic. Your retentions department then requests I call you credit department to see if they can assist. That would make my 6th call to MTN today - Great customer service. Customer must run around. As for now I think the only option is to cancel any services I have with MTN both here and my international lines. It appears that the service I get from South Africa is simular to the shoddy service I receive in my other home in Africa... Cant win.
