Mtn service is poor and negligent

So I decided to get an online contract with Mtn. I've been trying to cancel it. Tge retention department have been putting me various departments. Mind you I returned back the device and sim to my nearest mtn store untouched. So they said in order to cancel my contract I should pay R8700 for what?? When I have not utilized the services?? Please anyone please help me.
