MTN Service delivery and support issues
I recently upgraded my mobile device as part of my contract upgrade, on friday 1st November 2024, What should have been a seamless experience turned out to be an absolute nightmare, The Sales consultant never included the Watch as part of my upgrade which meant the deal was cancelled and re-invoiced due to forgetting to include the watch, this lead to issues with MTN's systems not allowing the deal to be processed and had to be rectified by MTN directly which meant the 2 days i spent in store with the sales consultant was lost and the store lost the sale as only MTN could cancel and re-invoice the deal, anyway be that as it may the phone was invoiced from MTN Directly and had to wait to have it delivered, Sibusiso told me he would have the handset delivered the following week monday 04/11/2024 as the unit had to be shipped from their midrand warehouse to logistics company and would recieve it on monday. needles to say this never happened and was only delivered on the wednesday 06/11/2024 without any form of contact whatsover from mtn or Courier company, this effectively meant i had to have someone sitting at my home waiting for the package evern after i was promised it would be delivered the Monday morning. Nevertheless the handset arrives along with the watch and had to rush home to meet the couriers to sign for the package. I begin to setupo my device and coming from apple i ask mtn to cancel my e-sim subscription currently setup on my apple watch and iphone as it wass being repalced by a new device and watch, I go in store to ask the sales representative to assist and they tell me i can only send an email to their division to that handles these e-sim queries. I subsequently do as requested and send a letterhead along with my details requesting my e-sim be cancelled and my new device be registered and setup. i wait 2 days then eventually get sent 2 seperate emails with 2 QR codes and nothing further, I google on the process of setting up the the e-sims to understand the process, i go about scanning the first QR code for my watch via the wearable app and it creates the line, My watch is now setup and think wow this was painless and quie simple to get done, little did i know this is only the beginning of my trouble.... Next thing my physcical sim cad stops working and will noi longer register on the network. i once again contact MTN explaining that my sim card is not regitering and when trying the e-sim it tells me my device is already in use. I email support again on friday 08/11/2024 explaining the sim card fails registration and cannot be setup on my device. I receive a response from MTN telling me my apple devices have been delinked and new devices have been added tomy profile and should be working. I attempt to setup and register my e-sim on my phone and once again fails registration, I then go to MTN store on saturday morning to attempt to get assistance regarding my sim activation, The consultant tells my the line has not been rica'd and as such wont register due to non rica compliance, we then proceed to rica and still no differnce, The consultant then informs me that the line is still not active and is in the que and usually takes around 24 hours to activate, i wait the entire Sunday and still no activation, it is now Monday afternoon and have been without services for 5 days now, i cannot run a business without my device as its my primary means of communication. the service MTN offers its customers is quite shockingly pathetic and cannot believe the level of incompetence i am experiencing with the supprt teams, the store is unable to assist as being a business customer everything is done via MTN directly, I have now recived an email stating that the lines need to be disconnected and reconnected again and will be at a cost for myself as the application will need to be reprocessed, I find this rather ********* as it is no fault of my own that MTN is unable to activate and get my sim cards active and working correctly, i cannot see why i should be responsible for their inability to assist in getting my sim cards active and working. IU have really lost faith in MTN being able to assist and my level of patience has run out as it is hugely frustrating to have to run and manage a business from a watch that doesnt last hallf a day on battery power due to the volumen of calls i handle, I wish there was a way to make an appointment with te CEO of MTN and explain how inept his systems are.
