MTN sends consumers on wild goose chases.
The latest, weirdest trick pulled on consumers, is that MTN insists that you submit a police affidavit if you want to sim swop. This is problematic on so many levels. Does the police not have better things to do? If I can submit a ********** ID to MTN when attempting a sim swop, I can surely make an affidavit with a ********** ID too? So the whole exercise is in vain? One branch told me I need to submit the affidavit to the branch. The call centre said I should not submit it, but fax it myself. A third branch said I do not need it at all. All this helter skelter after raising my call charges by 30% without warning. So I call the call centre to ask to speak to a supervisor to clarify. I did this twice. Both times I am put on hold for a really long time - seems like they have a special line where you are on hold for all eternity, foolishly believing that there is a supervisor on the other end.
MTN, I am your customer. Not your subject. Consider treating me like the source of your revenue.
