MTN sells fones on contract that are faulty

I purchased a fone from MTN on contract.

I have taken the fone to MTN to have it repaired, not once, but four times already, for the same problem...

How does this help? I have to take off from work to go to the store to book the fone in for repairs. A week later, I am told, the fone is repaired. Another week later, I sit with the same problem!!???

What happened to honesty? Ethics??

Why do these retailers have to ******* honest hard working individuals?

I have heard from friends and family that this has happened before...

How do we as consumers trust what we are being sold??

Why could MTN not say.... I will sell you this fone, HOWEVER, it might not work in a few months time..

I will surely escalate this matter as I WILL NOT accept this fone again... Een if I have to speak to MTN SA...

Hello HAFID,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We appreciate that you have made us aware of the issues that you were faced with regarding the faulty handset.

I apologise for any inconveniences caused as a result of this. I understand the frustration that you endured in your attempt to have the issue resolved.

Unfortunately, the IMEI number and Job Card number have been left out of your post which does delay the resolution time.

HVRC (Repair centre) is guided by the Manufacturer's repair and assessment guidelines, in accordance with their Standards and mandate. Depending on the level and complexity of repairs required, handsets can either be repaired or replaced with refurbished handset model. If the problem still persists the device will need to be booked in again for further assessment, as it may need to be sent to the manufacturer

Thank you
Wenzile Masina
