MTN selling wrong packages and OVER CHARGING

I have taken out a contract with MTN and the package was R300 and it was a mychoice contract but you have to top up if you reached your limit.

the first month my bill came close to R1000 and I phoned them and they said that I have crossed my limit which in the first place should not have been allowed, however I asked them to put a softcap of R1 on the phone and then I would not have issues.

every month since then my bill has been close to R1000.

Everytime I phone them they tell me that the limit was exceeded but the phone was ****** and the sim card is not used at all and my bill is close to R1000 again.

False advertising I would say and over charging their customers

Good Day Schoemantjie,

Thank you for your post.

We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this.

Kindly be advised that My MTNChoice package offers the ability to recharge at any time and the flexibility to spend out of your Usage Limit. Please note that the usage limit was set up to R0.00 from MTN side on the 07-03-2016 the system reflect as well that the usage limit has been changed by the user of the device on 11-03-2016. The system allow you to use up the free minutes and data received with the package. Once this has been depleted the account changed then to Top Up package where you need to load data and airtime.

Due to the usage limit change the system will then allow you to make any extra calls or data usage as per the usage changed, note that the short code #141#5# has been used for this change.

The system reflect that the usage limit has been changed back to R0.00 from R600.00 on 03-05-2016 by the service provider. Kindly be advised that a request has been sent to the Billing team to validate the usage.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery.

Kind Regards,

Zukiswa
