MTN seems unwilling to acquire new customers...

After a a bad experience with another network, I decided to give MTN a try, and thought that I would port my number to them for a new contract.

I went to MTN at the Welkom Square centre in Welkom on Saturday the 10th of December, with all the necassary forms, and submitted an application. The consultant informed me that the documentation would need to be sent in and verified and that I could expect an SMS with the outcome later that day or Monday at the latest. I was not in a hurry, so did not mind waiting until Monday.

Having received no feedback by Monday, I went back to enquire and was told that the consultant in question was in hospital but should be back the next day. I went back again the next day, only to discover that the application had never been processed. I was also told that the consultant who had helped me initially was still in hospital, but lo and behold, she was sitting in the shop (naturally I found this pecu**** and pointed it out).

The application was then processed by another consultant and I received an SMS confirming that it had been received by MTN (this was on Tuesday the 13th). On Sunday the 18th, I went back to the store and was told that there was no response yet. I then cancelled the application and decided to apply online, hoping for a better response. I app**** on Sunday night, and am still awaiting a response from MTN.

Is MTN doing so well that they can afford to simply ignore prospective customers? Or is this how they choose to do business?

My patience is waning, and I've lost faith in the company. I suppose red is the way to go from here, yellow isn't working so well...
