Mtn security risk

<p>I am Less Makhathini I have been using mtn more than 15 yrs nw my job sometimes requires that I go abroad for 6 months to a year . Last year (2015) June before I board the plane I made roaming on my simcard no *** with the hope that whatever bank transaction I will be able to monitor as the number is Ricced and registered on the internet banking with my bank . The first 2months I could receive messages whenever I make transactions after that I could not even register any account and it stopped like that. I came back today and bought a new simcard with the hope that I will do simswap and have my number I called 173 and an operator answered and i wanted simswap he asked me some few questions thereafter he told me my number has been recycled I said how possible the number is registered under my name and sms sent to that number is confidential the name of the agent he said is Sumani the reference of the call was *** I said he must explain how did this happen does it means all my confidential information is seen by someone else . He said I mst go and update that sensitive information with the bank and submit the new number which is *** . I told him that Mtn is careless if my number can be given to someone and that person sees my bank account details and that is a high risk I will seek a legal advice. He said that will be a fruitless effort because the information he gives me is written when purchasing a simcard and I did not see such otherwise I was going to change the product and that was the answer I must take </p>
