MTN Scared of their Customers

So after a month-and-a-half, MTN finally decided to reply to the complaint I lodged on the 25th of May 2015 (ref nr: ***0). According to them, I was soft locked due to my account being in arrears. So magically, I missed payments (which I never do, unless they messed up my billing date again), and not both, but only one of my lines were locked. What an age we live in, where bean counters manually lock customers using their own discretion. As I cannot get through to the call centre, I asked (three times) for someone to contact me. I'm still waiting. It seems MTN is so terrified to face their customers - even on the phone - that they choose to rather ignore them. Great going MTN. No wonder your CEO left with his tail between his legs today - I would die of shame if my name was connected to MTN.

Hello JanTas,

Thank you for your post,

We apologise for the delayed response and for any inconvenience this may have caused.

According to our records the barring on the account was removed. Also note that if you are on a cash payment method, payments needs to be made 21 days after your invoices closes. That is why your line was barred and it reflected as an arrears amount because the payment was made after 21 days.

Thank you
