MTN ****
MTN **** I was a victim of *****, i attached an affidavit detailing the circumstances leading to the ********** incident, i have many questions as to how this was allowed to happen. if there is suspicious movement on my credit card or bank account, the banks contact me to ask if in order by either an sms or phone call, is it not classsed as suspicious activity if in the space of 15 minutes 15 purchases were made, one per minute??? i tried to get hold of the ***** department from 19.17 evening getting through at approximately 19.50, the last purchase was made at 19.30, eventually they reset my account to zero, R19 431.00 had been spent, naturally i was extremely stressed about this and only started questing certain things a little later. I visited my local MTN the next morning, on querying why did they stop buying at 19.30 as account was only set to zero after 8, i was informed that R19.431.00 is my credit limit! when was this credit limit conveyed to me? I renew my contract every 2 years, according to the consumer protection act credit limits are to be clearly stated to a consumer and confirmed as a consumers circumstances may have changed. i would never have agreed to such a large credit limit, my long standing billing records with you will serve to prove how absolutely ludicrous this is. i have never ever bought any date, air time etc on this mtn app, i have fibre at home, why did a red flat of alert not be reflected to you? it would seem you have no systems in place to protect your clients, it would also seem that perhaps you do not have systems in place because you do not care if ******** make the purchases as long as purchases are made for you to profit from, it would also seem that this is an 'inside job' how did these people have so many details about me including how much i pay per month on my contract. should these unprotected MTN purchases of the 3rd May 2022 not be reversed this matter will be handed to the Consumer Protection Act, the ombudsman and the media. I have received NO response to this mail, as my usual amount reflected as being due last month and i paid my normal amount i thought the matter had been resolved, however the local MTN checked on their system and they plan on taking R20 002.00 tomorrow, plus the interest rate is exorbitant!! i mailed them again yesterday, they sent a reference number said an agent would be in touch needless to say nobody has been in touch. the same thing happened to 2 friends of mine their amounts have been reversed!!! i have had a contract with MTN since cell phones have been in South Africa, i am also a pensioner, MTN respond to me
