MTN SA *****ULENT AND CONNING THEIR CUSTOMERS

1. On 11 July 2024 I phoned Customer Care to give MTN 30 days notice to cancel 2 x contracts that were set to expire 11 August 2024, and I advised them that I wanted to go onto PREPAID in respect of both these numbers

2. However, someone from RETENTIONS dept then CONNED me into taking out a Data Contract iro both of these numbers (listed in point 1 above) and offered me a 24 month data deal in order to RETAIN my business. The retentions sales person offered me the My MTN Choice 8GB price plan which he advised me was on a special promo of 24GB anytime day and 24GB night (48GB) for the price of R139pm for the FULL 24 MONTHS of the contract. He said he is offering it to me in order to RETAIN my business and he assured me this “promo deal of 24gb day and 24gb night = 48gb pm” would stay for the ENTIRE 24 months of my 2 contracts I was taking !!! CALL REFERENCE *** ***) AND CALL REFERENCE *** ***)

a. He then emailed me a contract in respect of only one of my 1 numbers

3. HOWEVER, shortly after I agreed to taking these “retention deal” contracts on 11/7/2024, I then sometime in early Sept 2024 received a sms from MTN to the effect that the My MTN Choice 8GB price plan R139 would be discontinued and that I would be automatically migrated to the MTN Mobile Internet Gold Plan with 15GB anytime date for R159pm. I was obviously FURIOUS about this as within LESS than 2 months after agreeing to taking out the retention deal offered to me, namely My MTN Choice 8 GB promo of 24GB day + 24GB night for R139pm contracts, MTN was therefore migrating me to a package that had LESS DATA AND COST MORE!!!!!!! I reiterate that the Retentions consultant at the time said he is offering the special promo deals to me in order to RETAIN my business and he assured me this “promo deal of 24gb day and 24gb night = 48gb pm” would stay for the ENTIRE 24 months of my 2 contracts I was taking !!! So he **** to me and this is *****!

4. As I was very concerned about this sms I had received from MTN, I then phoned Customer Care on 6 September 2024 at around 11h00, and eventually after being transferred all over the show, I think I was transferred to the ***** Dept and I spoke to someone by name of Sindile Mondo – CALL Reference 4C72KM3. Sindile Mondo then advised me to IGNORE the MTN sms and assured me that my contracts will remain on the Retentions promo deal contract of 24gb day 24gb night @ R139pm for the full 2-year duration of my contracts.

5. HOWEVER, I am NOT getting my 24GB anytime day and 24GB anytime night (48GBpm) for R139pm for my 2 contracts!? So Sindile Mondo ALSO gave me false information.

6. I tried calling MTN 4 times today and trying to speak to Sales and Retentions dept, but everytime after chatting to customer care and being transferred, they kept CUTTING ME OFF! I am FURIOUS as what MTN has done to me is *****. Their Retentions consultant conned me into 2 year data contract iro 2 cellphones promising me one thing, however less than 2 months after taking these ‘retention deal’ contracts, MTN then changes my package to a LOT LESS DATA, FOR MORE MONEY!!

7. As MTN Retentions dept **** and conned me into taking 2 ‘retention deal’ contacts on 11 July 2024 (when I phoned to give 30 days notice to cancel the existing contracts on these 2 numbers which were set to expire 11 Aug 2024), I want these 2 “retention deal” data contracts CANCELLED at NO PENALTY TO MYSELF. HOWEVER MTN KEEP CUTTING MY CALL OFF! I am absolutely furious about being CONNED and **** to by MTN. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME IS ***** ON MTN’S PART!

after being cut off so many times today I emailed their customer service and ***** department. Email Reference number: 3c3f73be-46f9-42b3-af87-1f3578b01015

LET'S SEE IF MTN ACTUALLY READ AND RESPOND TO MY EMAIL!
