MTN SA - ALL TIME WORST SERVICE PROVIDER
This has got to be the all-time worst service provider in SA. A score of 1.45 out of +- 75,000 ratings should surely spark a reaction! Getting a contract cancelled is a near impossibility. Go into the store ... they tell you they can't cancel contracts and you must dial 135. I called on 01.12.22 and spoke to a "Customer Care Champion" (what a misnomer) who said I would have to pay a cancellation fee - which I accepted. He told me I should go to an MTN store and pay the fee in store, and then call 135 again from the store to give details of the payment. This I did - and even received a reference number. Having gone back to the store on numerous occasions to follow up and many promises to get back to me (Kyalami), they tried calling 135 and of course, the system was down ... or they get put on hold forever. I have now just spoken to someone in the retentions/cancellations dept, and they are quoting me a cancellation fee which is R200 higher than the previous quotation when there are only another 3 months left on the contract which costs R200 p.m. How can that make sense?? Eventually they tracked my payment which has merely been put against my account (I have several lines) and not app**** against the cancellation of the particular line requested. These people clearly have no idea what they are doing and there is no consistency in what they tell you. It previously took me 4 months to get a contract cancelled after I left my job. You used to be able to go to the big MTN centre in Morningside to get problems sorted out - but they are just as bad, if not worse, than everybody else. Rest assured, I shall be cancelling all my MTN contracts as and when they fall due next year - I don't even want to contemplate doing it before even though there are no instruments attached to them. But of course this will have no impact on a company that just doesn't care!@
