MTN's Ridiculous Charges are a downright ******* for their customers

I have been a happy contract customer of mtn for the past 6 yrs if not longer, until i received a bill of R2743.07 from mtn for the month of april. that is due end of this month ( May). I found it very strange that mtn switched off my phone on the morning of the 19th af april, (because my usage limited was exceeded), i called them and the operator had told me i was being charged for unpackaged data , i was on my way to work explained to the lady who helped me that this was impossible as i purchase a data bundle of 1Gig ( plus the free Gig i get with mtn's special on data so i receive 2Gigs)every month between the 15-19,and that i had purchased one the day before (18th). This is the only extra R160 i pay extra on my contract that i am aware of. I also use wifi at home, at work and at my parents place, which doesnt leave that much room for me to actually use all this data, i often download music or pictures while my husband drives me to work but even so i check my data daily just to make sure i have a suffiecient amount. i usually get notified 48hrs before my data bundle is going to expire this is why i usually purchase one monthly. i explain this to the consultant, she speaks to someone (maybe her supervisor) she then says they'll investigate the matter as i am using wifi and because she can see i purchase a bundle monthly on the system. within the next 5 mins my phone is switched on, so at this point im thinking things will be sorted on their side and that it was a mistake. on the 27th i receive my documents via email. to my horror i see that ive been charged a whopping R1454.66 for unpackaged data. immediately call customer care and start asking why im being charged this. This consultant not very friendly or helpful (coming from retail industry myself) tells me that this is from the usage limit i have set on my phone, my first question to her was what i am being charged for, the second was when it started. She confirms in saying its for data usage, and charges started on march 21st. i again explain to her that a week prior to our conversation i had spoken to a consultant who said the matter would be investigated as she can see i purchased a data bundle every month religiously either on this contract or my other one and transferred it to this particular number and is aware that i am using wifi at the destinaions i have mentioned earlier and that it would be investigated. This consultant then tells me she has no record of me purchasing a bundle on her side, and that i have to switch my mobile data off if i am in a wifi zone. She then says please wait while i speak to my supervisor, i wait for a few mins, i then ask the consultant how long this will take as i am on lunch and i can't be on the phone very long, she then says "so why did you call on your break if you dont have the time to sort it out" i say ok will call another time and hang up. The next day i call and a gentleman helps me this time, explain my concerns and the situation for the third time. he says from what he can see im being charged for storage or something like that thats what my data is being used for, confused i explain to him again about having data, and about the wifi. i ask the gentleman what i need to do, and if i have to switch my mobile data off everytime, because my huband never has to and we have the same contract. he says he'll investigate and send me details. 2 days later receive this long document from 808customer care, showing me my charges nothing that actually makes sense to me. This was the first time i put a usage limit on this number a bundles when necessary, and funny enough i only put that limit on on th 17th of april. Then i Started going through my mtn bills of previous months and i noticed something that i honestly thought was already removed from my bill in october 2014 when i upgraded to an iphone 6. MTN has been charging me R51.75 since october 2014 for BLACKBERRY INTERNET SERVICE HIGH.

So MTN This is what i want to know from you.... and the solution u have to fix this whole mess.

1. What is that unpackaged data fee of R1454,66 for, why am i suddenly being charged for it? (because ive never been charged before having a usage limit.)

2. Are you planning on crediting me with the R983,25 from the BIS ive been charged for for the past 19 months

3. Why are 3 consultants telling me different reasons for being charged ( Are you ******** your customers out of money)

4. Will this be sorted out before the 25th of May as complaining to customer service on three ocassions hasnt worked.

Really Dissapointed Customer

The packet switched data calls is your internet usage charges. I will log a billing query for the BIS charges on your account.
