MTN route and sim not working for three weeks straight!

I took out a R499 unlimited deal about three weeks ago from MTN, the sim and router was delivered within a week. The problem now is that I'm sitting here with a router and an activated sim that doesn't have network. Connection status indicator is still red even after I have ricad my sim. It's been three weeks straight now and come month end they will deduct for zero service rendered. I have sent messenger messages, commented on Facebook posts to no avail. I regret taking this deal and I'm considering canceling the contract, stopping and blocking the debit orders. What's the point of having a router and a sim card that's not working?
