MTN Rewardsco Mondo conspiracy to de***** customers with unwanted contracts
There was an MTN cellphone contract opened without my consent by Rewarsco Mondo.
I renewed my contract contract to keep my old phone and the next day someone called to ask if I still wanted to go with that or do I want a Samsung flip phone. I said that I agreed to the R129 p/m contract already and that is now a legally binding contract so why are they calling me to talk about a Samsung flip phone which I never discussed. The 'lady' then said that the call had been opened so she had to go through with it. I said I was in a meeting and had agreed to a contract already and hung up. I then got a call from a courier to deliver a parcel which I declined but they phoned me twice a day every day until I went to MTN store and asked what it could be a to confirm if my new contract had started without a phone. They said there was just the new contract on my old nr and it was probably a present from MTN. I then confirmed the courier they can bring the parcel, which turned out to be a Huawei Nova 9 and some expensive headphones, both of which I would never have bought and did not discuss at all. So the agent at mondo had added a R581 p/m contract over three years without my consent to a new SIM and then closed off the call without my consent at all, disgusting. Her name is Rebecca Leigh Van Schalkwyk as communicated to me by MTN.
I have returned the phone, headphones and sim unopened on the 23rd of Jan to the Canal Walk MTN main store. They said they would send a cancellation through but I was still billed at the start of March.
MTN throws their hands up and says there is nothing they can do but they have the Nova 9 phone and the headphones returned on 23 Jan and are the ones billing me over R800 p/m instead of the R129 I agreed to. They say I must contact Rewardsco Mondo who I would never approach for a contract because they have no track record for me. I try calling and get put on hold and have now run out of airtime trying to get hold of them. They have also not answered my mails so at this stage I do not know how to get out of this contract which I never agreed, don't even have the R10500 phone, R1900 headphones or SIM or the airtime and data that comes with it and I don't have enough airtime now on my contract to try sit on the call to speak to their agents.
Both MTN stores say this is a huge problem but MTN management is not doing anything about it, where things get added to contracts without consent or additional contracts opened without consent. There is no way forward now so I see this as a conspiracy to de***** MTN customer where these agents get the commission on activation which is when you receive the parcel and there is no way I can find to get this reversed.
