MTN Rewards Co terrible service!
Here I am again. After still not getting any joy from any MTN store or online store, my parents still did not have a laptop. Low and behold, on 22 July a man called Matthew from MTN Rewards Co. called my mom and advised that he has a laptop in stock and they proceeded to do the upgrade on one of her three lines. This package included 4 Gb of data, a Lenovo Core i5 with Office and a mouse and a bag, for R439 per month. We were promised that the laptop would arrive within 7 working days.
Exactly a day later our local MTN store called us to inform us that they had received stock and we politely declined as we'd just done the whole upgrade on the phone with MTN Rewards Co.
Well, it is now 20 August and we STILL do not have a laptop in our possession. !!! I called the Rewards Co customer care number and spoke to a lady called Miranda. She advised me that there is only a sim card out for delivery but definitely no laptop. She advised that a consultant had called my dad twice to arrange delivery but he had not answered the call. My dad says that he had no calls on that day.
After a lot of agitated shouting and explaining from my side as I am at this point truly GATVOL of dealing with MTN, Miranda told me that she will pull the call between my mom and Matthew to see how there is a laptop on this package as she doesn't see it on hersystem. She would call me back on the following Monday. No calls from her. I call them again a few days later. Speak to another woman and she says Miranda will call me back on Friday after 4h30 as they are not allowed to make out-going calls during office hours. (Brilliant customer care system where consultants can't call unhappy customers!!!)
No calls. My mom then receives a call from a Fiona from Rewards Co SALES dept. My mom tells her the whole story and she says she definitely sees the upgrade that was done WITH the laptop. All she needs to do is call the customer care number to ask them to issue the laptop for delivery. Here we go again.... Call customer care and after speaking to various consultants including Miranda, they tell us there NO LAPTOP loaded on the upgrade!
I have spent hours on the phone and the eventual outcome is that a supervisor told Miranda that there is a problem with the system and this has been happening. A local store consultant also informed me that they've had many complaints that when people upgrade telephonically, they end up paying for their new package but never receive their device.
This whole process has been atrocious and I am absolutely disgusted by MTN and this Rewards Co company. We are now paying R439 per month and do not have a laptop and all our local stores are yet again out of stock.
Can SOMEONE there at MTN PLEASE take charge of this insane service and issue and sort it out and get our laptop delivered????
