MTN returns policy is a huge ****

Through Mondo, MTN offered me a contract phone which I took but hardly 5 days of receiving the device they *****ed up my account and i immediately decided to terminate the contract as I still had the 10 return window. What really pushed me to return the device and cancel the contract was thanks to poor customer service, even when escalated to supervisory level. I figured I'll save myself the headache by ending it right then. I handed the device to MTN Century City. To my surprise, things moved from bad to worse. Mind you I had a data contract with MTN that was going well up to this point. All of a sudden a big corporate such as MTN could not distinguish between contract A and B. A complete sh#t show. They debit my account incorrectly and with inconsistent amounts. And every time I had to go to the bank and reverse what was taken and go to an MTN branch to pay what I knew I owed for the data contract. After a few months of this nonsense and complaining through various channels with no luck, I decide to terminate the data contract but the mickey mouse accounts dept. could not even issue me a settlement letter for the data contract which was already disconnected at this time.

I kept following up with MTN telephonically, in person and via email. The abuse of power that was demonstrated even when ICASA commented on my complaint. It was as if all fell on deaf ears. Don't even get me started on the ill-treatment I received from the Century City branch. Anyway, fast forward 3+ years later I am still owing MTN for a device that they accepted back and probably sold it to the sucker. What pains me is that this gross negligence is impacting my credit score. I am unable to get any contract phone. And this ***** MTN still has the audacity to offer me an upgrade. Hell would freeze over!
