Mtn Retentions will not close my contract

Two weeks ago I contacted MTN and requested that my postpaid contract be migrated to a prepaid contract. My contract has well exceded the 24 month period and I no longer wish to keep it.

Like I say , for two weeks MTN (Thuso and Mmapula) have given me the run around. They say they would like to retain my business and refuse to complete my request. I called through to the customer service line (808) and am told \sorry we cannot help you our systems are down\" ... repeatedly !

I have had a contract with MTN from the first day I owned a cellphone, 14 years ago , and can say with confidence that service like this solidifies my decision to close my contract/account and any further contact with MTN !

I now have multiple ref numbers regarding my request , REF ***1 / REF ***2.
"

Hello Hermanzn,

Thank you for your post.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.

We have contacted you but no availability.

Please be advised that the contract has been cancelled and the cell number converted to prepaid. Please allow +-2-24 hours for the number to pull through the network. Please do not load any data or airtime on the sim card, SMS will be send to you.

The invoice for April month has been credited and the debit order cancelled.

Kind Regards,

Alice van der Merwe
