MTN RETENTIONS FAIL TO REPLY OR HONOUR REQUEST

Having been an MTN customer for more than 15 years, I had a simple request... convert my contract expiring to pre-paid, and the contract that was not expiring let me pay this up and convert that to prepaid.

IT TOOK ME 4 MONTHS to get a cancelation figure on the one contract after being passed from call centre, to retentions (via email no less) to service centre and back to retentions (who mostly don't reply). After finally having the figure in hand for the cancelation and paying this and sending through proof of payment on 09 March 2016 and following up EIGHT TIMES (which I have reference numbers for) I am yet to receive confirmation the contract for the said number has been cancelled.

With regards to the second number that was supposed to be converted to prepaid, I was given such a run around on this and eventually managed to get this logged via one of the service centres on 07 March 2016 but yet again I am still awaiting confirmation that this has happened.

I am since out of the country for the rest of the year as I advised your staff, but to say I am disgusted with MTN is an understatement, should another bill arrive I intent to take this court for sure.

Hello justinharrison,

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused and for the breakdown in service experienced.

We can confirm that we've now migrated the cell-phone number ending with 9932 to prepaid and we've also now managed to get the management team to process the cancellation of the number ending with 5533.

We will touch base with you as soon as we get feedback on the escalation done.

Regards
Tim
