MTN renews contarct without customers permission
About 4 weeks ago I app**** for an upgrade via MTN. After about a week I started phoning the corporate call centre to get the progress of the upgrade. After multiple calls and multiple call numbers I was told there was a processing problem but three weeks later they could not get it right.
This Monday the 4 May I said enough is enough and that I no longer wanted the upgrade so I phoned to cancel the order and was given a reference number. I then phoned again on Wednesday 6th April to see if the cancellation was processed and was told no instruction was given to cancel which is not true. No honesty at all on the part of MTN. I then logged a second call on Wednesday the 6th April with a reference number to cancel the upgrade. I managed to get to speak to the supervisor on Wednesday telling him that I had cancelled the upgrade which he agreed to process and get back to me.
On Thursday MTN sent me an SMS telling me that the new contract has been processed with the upgrade. Such arrogance from MTN to ignore my instruction and wishes. The phone arrived today which I sent back. I am now on a new 24 month contract against my wishes which I consider ********** on the part of MTN.
