MTN REGIONAL MANAGER (IZAK JOUBERT) RENDERING POOR SERVICE
MTN REGIONAL MANAGER (IZAK JOUBERT) RENDERING POOR SERVICE I, Brunhilde Mariais have been an MTN customer for decades. During October 2020 I visited the MTN Olympus Village branch and was assisted by Victor. I inquired about a wireless device to be utilized mainly for business purposes. I indicated that I need a device I can use whilst travelling as well. Victor concluded a contract for a ZTE 4G MF286R router. He indicated that I could also utilize the device when travelling. I collected the device on 24 October 2020. The box had already been opened and the sim card had already been inserted in the router. At home, the device was installed via my computer. Initially the wrong data package was loaded and I logged a call. The correct date package was then loaded. There were various load shedding power outages, after which power outages the router did not work. Every time I had to enable the device again by using my computer and going online. Before the expiration of 7 days, I took the device back to Victor and informed him that the device failed to work after the power outages. He informed me that the device does have a battery and that the batter is faulty. He took the device with the sim card still inserted and informed me that he would send the device away, in order for the battery to be exchanged. After weeks of not having the router, Victor indicated that it seems that the device does not have a battery. He had also not sent away the device. It was still in the store. I was also informed that the device is registered to my home address, thus I cannot travel with it. He inquired if I desired another type of router, but I indicated that he should finalize the cancellation of the contract. He indicated that I would not be paid back the money I had paid, but that my account would be credited. The last time I communicated with Victor, was on 30 November 2020. Thereafter he did not take my calls. He was later suspended. The debit order kept going off each month. I was later phoned and asked about the antenna. I rep**** that there was no antenna in the box when I had received the router. In December 2020 I was assisted by another employee at the Olympus Village branch. She indicted that the debit order could only be stopped by a Regional manager. She referred me to Mr. Izak Joubert. I phoned him and he informed me that he would finalize the cancellation of the contract and the debit order. I communicated with him for months, but he only made countless empty promises. On 3 March 2021 a friend of mine, who is an Advocate, contacted Mr. Joubert. He indicated that the process is nearly finalized. On 15 March 2021, as well as on 17 March 2021, he indicated that there was only one signature outstanding in order for the cancellation of the contract to be finalized. He also indicated on 15 March 2021 that the debit order had been cancelled. After 17 March 2021, he did not take the calls of the Advocate any more. He also, long before then, stopped taking my calls. On 1 April 2021 another debit order went off on my account. I cannot stop the MTN debit order, because my cellular phone and the router are billed on one debit order. I reported this challenge to MTN via e-mail, but only received a computer generated response. I monthly pay for a service and device I do not have. The service rendered by Mr. Izak Joubert, the Regional manager, can only be described as pathetic.
