mtn refusing to help with faulty phone
Good Day

I would like to lodge a complaint against MTN. I upgraded my cellphone contract with them on the 09th of March 2015 and I received the phone on the 11th of March 2015.03.18 When receiving the phone I realized that the phone was faulty and I contacted their call center to report this and I was told that I need to go to the any mtn store for assistance. I went to the store in Quagga Centre Pretoria and when I arrived I was told that they can't help me and that I had to go to the store in Menlyn and I drove there and when I got there I was assited by Thabile Nxumalo who refused to even look at the phone because she said that the box was damaged and that I had removed that sticker on the box. I asked that how was I supposed to open the box because they had placed the sticker on the place that I was supposed to open the box and I explained to her that they call centre agent who sold me the phone did not explain that I should not remove the sticker. I asked her to call the manager at the store because I was not happy with the fact that nobody wanted to help me. The store manager(Jenifer Shela) refused to talk to me. I need a new phone this one is faulty
Thank you for your post.
We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.
Kindly note, if you discover any fault or defect in the Mobile Device within 7 (seven) days of receiving it, you may return the Mobile Device to MTN SP immediately in the same condition and packaging as the Mobile Device was delivered to you, along with the proof of purchase (the invoice and proof of delivery waybill documents).
Unfortunately, if the packaging is not in the same condition, the handset would have to be sent for repairs as it will not be accepted as OBF or for warranty assessment/return.
We would like to assure you that we are actively working to improve our service levels.
Regards
Veronica
