MTN refuses to honour warranty
I last made a complaint on the 21st of March about my ongoing struggle with MTN. At that time I was informed by Kevin (at MTN customer care) that my complaint had been escalated to the HVRC (High Volume Repair Centre) however they just ignored my complaint. This involves MTN holding my sons Blackberry 9320 hostage and allegedly claiming the LCD was cracked. They were supposed to send photos to prove this but then demanded R160 to do this, who has ever heard of such a thing. To pay for proof?!! To me, this has demonstrated the absolute lack of MTNs customer service. . It is now over two months. I intend writing to Mr. Mteto Nyati, the CEO of MTN. As stated before this phone belongs to my son and not MTN. I have never heard of such nonsense and will continue to fight for what is right. Never again will we have anything to do with MTN.

Thank you for your post.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.
We have sent the request to the repair department Supervisor to assist you, we have requested for the proof to be sen t to your email address.
Please contact the repair center on *** and speak to the supervisor. A per the repair center the handset is not Beyond Economical Repair therefore the client needs to make R150.00 payment for photographic evidence since the handset is repairable.
Kind Regards,
Alice van der Merwe
