MTN Porting - Huge Security Risk on MTN Side.. Anyone can port your number without your consent..

- My number got ported from Vodacom without my consent. - Received an sms on the Evening of the 7th December 2018 that my number was succesfully ported and i lost signal on my mobile immediately. - Visited Vodacom the next day and they advised that the number was succesfully ported to MTN. They could not assist at all.

My concern is how was the port even done from Vodacom to MTN without my knowledge and concent? Does MTN not follow procedure? Vodacom has an entire procedure and asks for FICA docs when access any Vodacom account!! When i visited MTN Canal Walk store(8 December 2018) we were greeted by a certain "Chad Grove"in front which we explained the situation to, he asked what the issue was and how he could help. He responded by laughing and saying that is very strange. This is unproffesional especially being the face to the store. This is extremely serious as i needed to close bank accounts for security reasons.

The person that assisted us at MTN as well, asked us what number we inquiring about, he contacted the MTN porting department which did the reversal and advised that it will be reversed within two hours. It is the 9th and my phone is still not active. MTN has no porting procedure at all which is a huge risk. The consultant at MTN did the reversal of the number only by us giving him the number. He never asked for any identification whatsoever and continued the porting reversal.

This is extremely concerning and a huge security loophole in MTN Porting procedures. Further steps will be taken as i need to know who did this port to begin with.

Please advise ASAP. Please contact me for number i am inquiring about. Your call centre sucks and your Canal Walk branch number does not work.
