MTN Port/ WhatsApp **** took money from my family and friends

Hi my phone number was ported to MTN in a WhatsApp **** requesting my contacts to send ewallets. They received a message saying "I lost my wallet please send me R1.5k I'll pay you back tomorrow" some of my family members sent money up to R2.5k from one person. I went to MTN in Crests to reverse the port and only got back into my Vodacom network at 10pm the damage had been done. How will MTN proceed to refund my family members?
