MTN POOR SERVICE DELIVERY & LAME EXCUSES

On Wednesday 1 April 2015 I upgraded to a new phone and was told that my new sim would be active in 2 to 24 hours (ja right!!!!!) After numerous phone calls to MTN and visiting their stores I was told no sorry it's because of the holidays we can't activate your sim card, Wednesday 1 April was a working day as well as Thursday 2 April 2015. I have been promised by MTN that they will call me back on several ocassions, one of their staff called me Saturday, Reidwan was his name but still nothing, Sunday visited MTN Clearwater Mall still nothing, called MTN Morningside where I got the phone from their nr goes to VOICEMAIL, called MTN Clearwater, their number goes to voicemail!!!!! I am paying monthly for a contract service and my phone has been off for 6 days now, never have I experienced bad service such as this. I want to know what they are going to do about my bill to deduct they money off of my account for the last 6 days, or however long I am still going to be without a phone for!!!!!

Hello WILLEMPIE79,

We are truly sorry for the breakdown in service and for the delayed response to your post.

We've now perused your account and see that your SIM swap was processed on the 7th of April 2015. We can confirm that there was a problem with the SIM swap request not going through on the network.

We've now calculated the subscription amount for 7 days of inactivity and the credit amount being approved and allocated to your account is R107.10 including 14% VAT.

Once again we do apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Regards
Tim
