At the end of November 2018 i took a cell phone contract with MTN (iPhone8 64Gig). By January the phone's camera and torch stopped working. So took it back to MTN and they booked it in for repairs. The consultant told me to take it directly to iPhone but I did not do that as I purchased the phone from MTN and believe they needed to resolve this problem. She also couldn’t answer my questions on why ‘my find phone’ needed to be switched off or if they will need to reset my phone deleting all my contacts, photo’s, ect. (Please educate your staff to better answer these types of questions). I was initially told it will take 7 working days to advise if a replacement device will be issues with changed to 7 to 14 days. Device was handed to MTN on the 17 Jan. Monday, 21st Jan is enquired on timeline. When i was told the device wasn't even collected! Surely it does not take soo long for a device to be picked up? On the 29 Jan i received an email stating the warranty assessment is approved and only available colour at the warehouse is space grey. The consultant asked me if i wanted that one or prefer the silver. I preferred the silver and asked what is the ETA if she orders a silver? To which i was told: 'No communication from Manufacture to the warehouse, and it was while stock lasts. No store has the device either.' ?? What does this mean? Why ask me what I prefer in the first place?? Will MTN not order the device ever again? Surely this is beach of originally contract? This is the first i have experienced such poor customer service. I am still awaiting feedback from the consultant on a way forward
