MTN / PInnacle Marketing

On the 12th of April 2017, I damaged my phone and ended up with a cracked screen. I took my phone to MTN repair center in Midrand on the 13th of April 2017. I booked my phone in with Quintin Mboweni and he told me that I need to fill out the necessary documents and send these documents to MTN Claims through Pinnacle marketing.

On the 18th of April 2017, I completed all the necessary documentation and sent it on to the claims department at Pinnacle marketing. On the 19th of April I received email confirmation that my claim had been received and that a consultant would contact me within 72 hours. On the 21st of April, I received a call from Pinnacle marketing to tell me that my claim has been processed and that I was required to pay the excess. I paid the excess on the 24th of April and sent through proof of payment on the same day. On the 28th of April I received a phone call from Pinnacle marketing advising me that they were at my offices to collect my phone, I informed the lady that I did not have the phone on me and that it was at MTN repair center in Midrand. She said that she would get the driver to MTN repair center. I received another call on the 2nd of May asking if the driver could collect my phone. I advised them once again that the phone was at MTN repair center in Midrand. The lady said she would arrange for pick up at MTN. On the 3rd of May, another gentlemen called me saying he was at my offices to collect my phone. I once again told him where the phone was and to collect the phone there. On the 9th of May, Pinnacle once again called me regarding the pick-up of the phone saying that I must go collect the phone from MTN repair center so that they could collect the phone from me. I refused to collect the phone and told the lady that she had to make a plan to get the phone as I was not wasting petrol to collect the phone. She then arranged for the collection of the device.

On the 10th of May, Quintin mailed me to say that “find my phone” was still active. After much back and forth I removed the phone from my iCloud and informed him that it was removed. He advised the phone has been rebooked and gave me a job card number.

On the 18th of May, I emailed Quintin regarding the status of my phone as no one had contacted me regarding the repair. He then went on to tell me that “find my phone” was still active and that they could not process for an exchange. I then proceeded to inform him that I had done what he instructed and that I have removed the device from my iCloud. He then continued on with the same story. I then asked why my phone was being exchanged and not repaired and that should the phone be exchanged I do not want a refurbished phone. He then told me that I would receive service stock from Apple which is NOT what I want. After much arguing he said that I will not get a new phone but a service stock phone (this phone can be almost a year old). My phone is brand new (only purchased in January).

It is now the 22nd of May and I am still sitting without my phone. I am highly frustrated and to be frank ****ED off with MTN and Pinnacle marketing. I have been without my phone for almost 6 weeks.

Quite frankly, I want a brand new phone from MTN. I don’t care how you sort out the “find my phone” issue, I did what was asked. I DO NOT want a service stock phone as there have been multiple reports of issues with replacement phones.

I’m at a point where, if I don’t get my phone repaired OR a new phone, I will cancel my contract and MTN will lose a loyal customer of 12 years!

SORT IT OUT MTN!!!!!!

Maybe MTN should send me an iPhone 7 PLUS for all the trouble they are putting me through!
