MTN, pathetic service
I have been using MTN for a while now and preferred it over all networks till I started experiencing a problem in April.
They didn’t debit their amount in April 2020, and I made a cash payment thereafter. They, however, debited in May, June and July 2020. They didn’t debit in August and told me I owe. I made a call to the call centre for clarity as I wanted to make payment, who told me I have credit instead and don’t understand why MTN say I owe. Ever since then, MTN would suspend my services and every time I would call I would be told that i have a credit with MTN and I do not owe.
I even sent proof of payment i made in April. Each and every consultant I called told me I do not owe and that MTN owes me. Today, 27/09/2020, I find out my services are suspended again. I made a call yet again, and a consultant told me that I have 2 billing accounts and the payment I made was transferred to the other account which didn’t owe instead the relevant one, so therefore I need to make a payment of more than R4 000.00 for them to activate. I explained to her the situation and asked how was it possible that that payment I made was transferred to an account which doesn’t owe instead of the relevant one. How did they reconcile and she told me she doesn’t know.
She told me they are going to credit me (with that apparent credit I have) to cut the cost I owe for the other account but the amount I owe still amounts to R4 000.00 and said she escalated that they cancel the other billing account. Mind you, I owe for 2 phones and 2 insurances. Should something happen now, I won’t be covered for. Now, she told me she can’t activate my account until I have paid the R4 000.00, how can I make a payment of such a large sum of money, when every time I wanted to make payment I was told I do not owe? And how is it that even an arrangement cannot be done but I am expected to make payment of such a large money? Why did MTN not reconcile properly instead and now I am expected/costed for their mistake? They can even retrieve the calls I have been making in August and listen, cos I wanted to make payment. I even called on the 15th September asking how much I am expected to pay for this month but was told, yet again, I have credit.
This is really frustrating me because I don’t have that money, my services are suspended, and I wasn’t even an unwilling payer for that matter.
