Mtn Oppo Reno Contract package locked for International travel...Do not take this Contract

Please do not take an Mtn Contract with the Oppo Reno cell phone. Mtn Mall of Africa sold me an Oppo phone in April without disclosing that this phone is useless when you cross international boundaries. I was clear firing the renewal of my contract that will be crossing boundaries for business in coming weeks.The phone is sim locked and one cannot insert another mobile service sim when on International travel including SADC countries even if they have no network based in that country.The phone and dual sim slots are locked and accept no sim other than the local sim cards. The sim and phone lock can only be deactivated after being on contract for 12 months. What it means you have to wait for twelve months before you can have the phone unlocked for mobile services used in that country or one needs to buy another gadget that you can use in the meantime till the 12 months period has lapsed.What nonsense is this when International travel is no longer a luxury, worst when you are doing business across International boundaries. I now rely on hotspotting from colleagues when travelling since the Oppo Reno gadget sold to me is locked from allowing other mobile networks. I have visited the Mtn store, called Mtn and Oppo online and have received no response todate. Huawei P40s are actually better brands than this overpriced Oppo gadget as one had no issues before regarding the Huawei Pseries. I regret the day I was decieved in falling for the Contract. People with Mtn buying Telkom, please stay away from the Mtn Oppo gadget and the tied contract. I am busy at the moment exploring means to get away from Mtn on the current contract, can't wait but to get Vodacom.
