MTN only cares about profit
I got a new iPhone in June 2021 worked perfectly fine all along. around May 2022 I started experiencing issues with the phones earpiece whereby I couldn't hear the other person speak on the other end, the entire time I thought it was network issues due to load shedding after asking to people around me using the same they network confirmed not having any issues, I then tried switching on to loud speaker when I made a call and it was perfectly fine but immediately I switch to the earpiece I couldn't hear a thing, I took the iPhone back to MTN Greenstone where I upgraded the contract around the 25th of May 2022, 5-10 days before the warranty lapsed, the phone was sent in for repairs, still before the warranty lapsed I was asked to disable the find my iPhone which I did though the request/ instruction was strange to me since only the speaker was the issue, a few days went past I get a quote for almost R20 000.00 and an E-mail saying that's what I need to pay to get my phone fixed, I declined the quote since I knew my phone was still under warranty when it was handed over to the store, a year later after speaking to many people, sending many E-mails, paying over a R1000.00 a month without fail for the entire duration of the contract my phone is still lying at MTN Greenstone as no one wants to be responsible to get it fixed, my contract is due for an upgrade the same people from different MTN stores calling 5 times a week to offer me an upgrade/ new contract but fail to take ownership for the phone handed over to them over a year ago, it simple means MTN consultants are only trained to make sales but not to help resolve clients issues, I have been with MTN for over 22 years and this level of it's not my problem attitude is really not acceptable
