MTN online contract cancellation is a ****!!!

I went to an MTN shop in the beginning of June to find out if I have to cancel my contract or will it just simply stop on its own since it was ending in June. They told me I have to call their call centre to cancel it. I tried to call them that entire week, I was holding to speak to agents for 15 minutes at a time only for the call to be cut before I could speak to anyone.

I then got an invoice way above the contract payment, followed by an SMS that I will be charged that amount on a month to month basis as my contract is coming to an end.

I call them again, after waiting long to speak to an agent, I finally spoke to one who said she has now cancelled the contract and the amount I received on the SMS and the invoice will not be debited. I should disregard it. After not receiving any confirmation of my contract being cancelled. I called again, only to find that the previous agent had began the process but did not complete it. I was then assured that it was cancelled after that call and indeed I got a confirmation sms.

Today, I wake up to a debit order of the same payment I was told to disregard, an amount of R507 when my bill is R329. I honestly think this is so unfair and ******* especially in this economy. The difference in that amount could have been used to pay for my petrol or weekly groceries!
