MTN not providing promotional items advertised with Huawei P10 PreOrder
<p>MTN Advertised that if you if you pre-order the Huawei P10 in May 2017 from their website the following promotional items are to be received:</p> <p> - The first 3000 Customers are to received a Huawei Tablet and bluetooth keyboard</p> <p> - The first 500 Customers are to receive a R1000 voucher</p> <p> </p> <p>I am certain that I am 1 of the 500 customers due to the following:<br />The adverti*****t for the pre-order and promotional items came onto the website 1 May 2017.<br />2 May 2017 I Pre-ordered on the website and received confirmation.<br />4 May it was advertised on the MTN Blog that the 1st 3000 customers that preorders will receive a tablet and the 1st 500 a R1000 voucher.</p> <p>22 June 2017 I received a voucher from Huawei for the R1000.<br />10 May I went to a MTN store in Somerset West to ask when the P10 will become available. She confirmed that they will receive P10's within the next 2 days with included tablets.<br />11 May I phoned the MTN call centre to ask why was not contacted yet seeing that I pre-order and the phone will already be available at the shops. the MTN call centre said that they will arrange that the call centre handling the promotion to contact me. They also said that they know that that call centre is still being trained by MTN staff from their call centre.<br />11 May I was contacted by the MTN call centre to process the application. Halfway through the application the supervisor took over to complete the application. I asked about the promotional items. the supervisor said I did not have to worry about that because my application was done and the phone was only coming out the next day.<br />12 May MTN in Somerset west Contacted me to ask if I am still interested because they have a P10 with tablet available still. I however already finalised my application telephonically and had to wait for the phone to be delivered.<br />25 May I received only my phone with no reference to the promotional items and no one able to assist.</p> <p> </p> <p>After continuous calls and Emails to MTN I received an email from Belinda Williams, an online assisted sales lead at MTN, stating that am supposed to receive the promotional items, I must just be patient.</p> <p>She is however not replying to my emails anymore and apparently MTN is unable to transfer my calls to her after numerous attempts. Additionally no-one else at MTN is apparently able to assist me, transferring me the whole time until the phone disconnects.</p>
I received a private reply from MTN 3 days after my complaint that they will assist with regards to this matter. After replying to MTN privately twice already I received no further feedback.
It would seem that I have only received a standard response without any intension to assist as promised.
