MTN not complying to consumer act

On Friday the 12th of January I went to the MTN Woodlands store to do my upgrade on my mobile phone as they had specials running. I asked MTN to check my current contract as I have simcards for both my cellular phone as well as my Ipad. They imformed me that the sim cards are linked and if I do the upgrade with the special the 50GB of data will be usable on both my devices. MTN Woodlands then didnt have the phone I wanted so they concated MTN Menlyn to check stock. Menlyn confirmed they have stock and is keeping it aside for me. Whwn I arrived there they didnt have the phone in stock and I had to go for a more expensive contract in order to qualify for the special. After all documentation was done I had to wait another 5 days for my simcard, as my previous phone's simcard doesnt fit in the new phone. Once I got home and looked over the contract I realised that I cannot offard this new contract as it is too expensive and decided to go back on Monday the 16th to cancel the upgrade and return the new phone. They said that they cannot do the cancelation as it has to be done within 24 hours, which according to the consumer act isn't true and they have to do the cancelation. I however believed them when they said that and kept the upgrade in place. I received the new sim card on Tuesday the 17th. After inserting the sim card in my phone, all the data has npw been put onto my Ipad and I dont have any data on my phone, meaning I need to buy data on a daily basis and is costing me more and more, which I cannot afford. I have been to MTN 10 times exactly from the 13th Of January until Friday the 20th to get my issue resolved but without any luck. I have been told that I need to add an addition R50 to my contract then they can add that to my mobile phone. This is never what I agreed upon and I want this upgrade to be cancelled, as it has been a problem from day 1 and not receiving any assistance from MTN, I have now gone from paying R180 p/m to over R300 p/m with less than I had previously.
