Mtn not being honest to customer

I have 4 lines with Mtn and use one of these as my primary line. This line is supposed to be a top up line and I was being charged R229.01 per month for this particular line. Suddnely I am now being charged R240.84. On enquiring whats going on one of the call centre consltants told me that I hadnt set up my usage limit on the line and need to dial *141*5# to set the limit. I find that strange because all along I was being charged R229 and I have never needed to setup any limit as I clearly stated when I renewed my contract that this line is a top up line and i have to load airtime when the minutes mtn gives me run out. Also since mtn gives me minutes on this line where is the usage limit coming from? Giving the consultand who was helping the benefit of doubt, i dialled *141*5# to try and set the limit to 0.00 as she said only to get an error message “Please contact your service provider to set your usage limit” What the hell is going on? How am I supposed to set the usage limit when the system doesnt allow me? My problem is this is a topup line and assuming that I going beyond the data or airtime that I would have loaded, why is Mtn allowing that to happen because I never asked them to do so?

Today I loaded airtime for R10 and it disappeared when I enquired I was told that though from the voucher serial number I provided she could see that indeed I had loaded airtime but she couldnt see what happened to the airtime. I should wait for 30 minutes for the system to update. After the hour I called again and was told to wait again for another hour mean while the consultant will email me with any update. I did get the update and this is the email I got verbatim

From: -------------------
Sent: Wednesday, 30 November 2016 12:59 PM
To: -------------------
Subject: Re: RE:

This was a self service data purchased, you may have chosen a "recurring" data instead of "once off".

To cancel this you need to dial *141*5# choose an option 'manage my account' and cancel recurring.

This lady is either lying or doesnt know what she is doing.

1. Is I had chosen recurring data shouldnt it show in the system?

2. *141*5# doesnt work on my line.

I called again after two hours and spoke to a different lady who couldnt see what happened to my airtime. How is it that the second lady culd see that 50MB of weekly data had been purchased and the third couldnt? Are they not using the same system? The last lady I spoke to said she escallated the call (ref: ********** 25) and I am looking forward to a call from Mtn. They need to explain a few things to me.

Good morning Chawira
We are sorry to have disappointed you with our service and would like to assure you that it is certainly not our intention to dissatisfy our clients.
I have tried contacting you on your cellphone number with no luck. As per my investigations on our systems I have noted that you have been correctly charged. You are still being charged R200.88 (vat excl ) however for the October invoice you were charge an extra R1.75 for content charges purchased on your handset plus R5.26 for a data bundle plus R3.32 for out of bundle rates and 0.04 cents for a calls made this adds to R211.25 plus the vat of R29.59 giving a final total of R 240.84
The R10.00 loaded was used to buy a 50MB weekly bundle at 08:12 on the 30 November 2016. This was done from your handset via USSD.
Should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us on 808 or *** from other networks.
We understand that the entire experience must have been very frustrating, it is not our intention to displease you. We do look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.
