MTN Non-existing Insurance Dept

I have sent through an insurance claim via email on 9 November 2016.

The automated message stated that "Due to a temporary issue that we are addressing, our current turnaround time is unfortunately up to 5 days, our sincere apologies for the inconvenience".

UP TO 5 days ... well we are now at 8 working days.

Reference no: ********** 8.

Does your Insurance Dept even exist? You can phone and phone and phone and phone and phone ... and there is NEVER any reply.

I have phoned days on end ... staying on your STUPID system for more than 30 minutes at a time .... and NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER does the phone get answered.

Eventually on Friday, 18 November I managed to get an answer at the following number ********** , who managed (by miracle) to put me throught to your insurace Dept. That was 12:48. I was told that the claim has not yet been allocated (this is now day 6, and it has not even been allocated). I was advised that the allocation is being done, and that I will receive an answer by the end of the day via email. I spoke to Michelle and received ref no ********** 98.

Well, surprise surprise, NO communication has been received from MTN.

Now again, Monday 21 November, I am trying to phone and find out what is going on ... and AGAIN, all the people working at your Insurace Dept are DEAD, because there is again NO ANSWER.

MTN has NO PROBLEM to debit the insured premiums of R74,56 from my account every month ...

In the meantime my son does not have a phone. This is a security risk.

What is my next option? The Ombudsman?
