I ported into MTN from Telkom on 15 August 2018 and then I opted into Afrihost. The next day, my sim card was suspended/deactivated. Not sure why, MTN could not give a reason but did advise that I do a sim swap. Went into the MTN store on Thursday afternoon, did RICA and sim swap in store, was told to wait 2 hours. By Friday afternoon, sim swap was still processing. By Saturday morning still processing. By Sunday morning it was still processing. Went back to the MTN store twice, they had no explanation, phoned MTN from the store on Sunday morning, they could not give an explanation except “wait some more”. I insisted to speak to a supervisor who advised that I do another sim swap. Which I did in store. Was also advised to send an affidavit and copy of my ID to ********** which I did.
The sim swap is still not processed.
I am at my wits end, it has been five days, I cannot use the number. I do not know how to proceed from here. No-one at MTN seems to know what is going on or is willing to help.
Good day Francois
Your number has now been assigned to the new sim number you provided me. I have sent you an email to activate the new sim card so that it functions. I have tried calling the other number but it's now on voicemail. Please do respond on my email. Your number should work after activating it.
