MTN no fingerprints no contracts

On about 5 Oct I tried to open two contracts (for data and airtime) at MTN Greenstone. I have an impeccable credit record. I have never been in debt. I do not owe anyone any money. I have a stable income, I have no ******** record. However, MTN refused to authenticate me. They gave no reason and apparently would not review my application. The only way round is to reapply.

The only reason I can think of, for not authenticating me, is that I have no finger prints. I am 73. No finger prints is not an unusual phenomenon. There are illnesses and certain conditions, as well as advanced age that result in no finger prints. There are people who do not have hands or are missing thumbs. According to the Bill of Rights Chapter 2, Section 7-39 “The state may not unfairly discriminate directly or indirectly against anyone on one or more grounds, including race, gender, ***, pregnancy, marital status, ethnic or social origin, colour, ***ual orientation, age, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth.”

Furthermore, In the process of trying to open my contracts, I tried the Norwood Mall MTN branch because the Greenstone branch was off line for over a week. A manager told me I’d have to bring print-outs of (either) 6 or 12 months bank statements. I don’t remember which but either is not true and does not promote MTN service.
